PLAYA BONITA
A wonderful, natural beach, deserted and full of palm trees, 14 km long; perfect for unforgettable walks and carefree holidays. The beach and the sea are not dangerous for little children.
Two coral reefs protect Punta Bonita from high waves and the open sea. The Atlantic in front of Punta Bonita is, because of its cleanliness, one of the secret tips of the Caribbean.
Between 3'000 and 5'000 humpback whales, which need clean water, come every year to the Silver Banks and the Samaná Bay between January and March and give birth to their babies. The Silver Banks, laying between the Island Hispañola, Turks and Caicos, where nominated 1986 to the first whale's sea protective area of the world.
The water temperature is between 26 and 28 degrees. Even though Punta Bonita is in the subtropics, the climax is during the whole year very pleasant thanks to the light sea breeze.
